It’s the Murray’s best kept secret – Deniliquin, Let’s Go!
The Edward River is famous Australia-wide as home to the iconic Murray Cod and other native fish, including Yellowbelly. You can take a short boat ride into the quiet forest waters, or simply cast a line from the bank. Catching a Murray Cod is one of the most exhilarating experiences and has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime.
Your first port of call to town needs to be the Visitor Information Centre, situated at the Peppin Heritage Centre in George Street. Our friendly staff and volunteers will chat to you about our many areas of interest, ensuring your special needs are met.
To savour nature’s beauty, why not pitch a tent or pull up the van at one of the camping areas in the Murray Valley National Park? Willoughby’s Beach is on the edge of town, but offers peaceful solitude on the river’s edge. A little further south is the Edward River Bridge Camping Ground which is also a great spot for fishing, walking or becoming immersed in the tranquillity.
